Amazing detail but…. This set has absolute amazing detail there’s no doubting that and it’s certainly a collectors piece but for the price I’d expect motorisation of the train and compatible track for this. It’s very big and you’ll need sufficient space to display it, on to the STICKERS never should you see stickers in a LEGO set and certainly shouldn’t see them in a set of this price, every brick should be printed in this set LEGO!!!! The building took more or less 2 full days although I didn’t go at it straight through I did have breaks. The platform is left open at the back side this for me should have been closed off like it is at the front whether you can see it or not shouldn’t make a difference. The light bricks to light up the sections of the carriage are a nice touch. Overall if you’re a LEGO Harry Potter collector then I’d recommend it, if you’re looking for more playability then I’d look away

Good but. I did put together the Titanic. This item was a bit more challenging, but the end product is awesome. My only complaints are:
Some missing pieces – but I could use pieces from other sets and that worked. Rather than wait for missing pieces, I decided to “customize” my train.
But now I am sitting here with 9 wheels that do not get used anywhere. I have gone through the instruction books and cannot find any reference to these wheels. They are not train wheels because they do not have the flange to keep them on the track. I don’t know which is worse missing pieces or too many pieces.
The Lighthouse is next.

Great model, but the set could be better. Overall, this is an absolutely beautiful set, but there are some things that could have been done to make it even better in my opinion. First, I think there’s too many stickers in this set. A $500 collector edition set should have a minimal amount of stickers, but that’s an issue I can live with. Second, I don’t understand why adult Ron and Hermione weren’t included in the minifigure lineup instead of generic hufflepuff/ravenclaw students. That one’s a little harder to swallow. Aside from these 2 blemishes, still think the set makes an amazing display piece if you’ve got the room for it.
