Geweldige lego bouwdoos die echt een uitdaging is. Heb hem gebouwd als een soort therapie voor tremorverschijnselen door hersentumor. Tril bij het in elkaar zetten van kleine onderdelen, maar het is me gelukt. Prachtige lego bouwset BMW motor.

NIce Build and true to the real thing. I purchased this set to build in the winter. First of all, it is a fantastic build right from the start, and if you do not know how a sequential gearbox works, this is a great opportunity to find out for yourself. Understanding how it works is half the fun of assembling it. I realise for some simply assembling the gearbox and engine will be the main goal. But seeing it in action is impossible once the model is complete, so take the time to make sure all the gears work. I would have liked the gearbox to be true to a real motorcycle with first gear making the pistons go faster than second gear and slowest in third gear. The build itself is not too challenging but can be fiddly in parts especially towards the end of the build, where I thought the instructions could have been a little better. I was unable to feed the brake hoses down through the forks (step 378) without first disassembling part of the fork assembly, but this was a minor issue. The most changeling part of the build, for me were the stickers, over 80 of them. Getting them lined up was very difficult and I had to pay particular attention to the orientation of some of the symmetrical carbon effect stickers. The most difficult sticker for me was the information plaque. It is difficult to align, and due to its size and is prone to getting air pockets under it. I would have preferred to find a pre-printed plaque in the box. I completely messed this up and when I looked at it realised an eyelash had become stuck between the sticker and the base plate. Also, the dimple on the plate is clearly visible through the sticker. Removing it and reapplying it proved difficult, and I am still not happy with the end result, so may be sourcing a replacement. For the price in the UK £215 I would say this set is a little too expensive. Overall, a good build and the end result looks like the real thing. My only criticism are the visible studs on the cowling behind the seat. I may see if it looks better with a white or blue tile placed on them.
