Plibato –
Gorgeous set. I’m a huge fan of lego monkie kid, I’m sad I had to buy this online because the sets aren’t in any stores near me. I hope that could change someday because the show is amazing and so are the sets! I had so much fun building this and will definitely buy more LMK sets in the future 🙂

A breath of fresh air. Monkie Kid has always raised the bar for what Lego can do, through the expert building techniques and stunning models that convey iconic folklore, this set is no different. Here we have Mei’s guardian dragon, loosely based off of Bai Long Ma, a brilliant depiction of a mighty eastern dragon. Over the years, we’ve received many dragons (with due thanks to Ninjago) but this does not just exceed my expectations, but makes me ponder as to what else Lego is capable of, especially in that of eastern dragons which we have been severely lacking. A fair comparison would be to the iconic Lloyd Mech Dragon from the Ninjago Movie, which was brilliant for its time, however this is notably far more polished with the same amount of love from the designers. The curved, serpent like body, the balance of a range of sharp colours that tie together so neatly, the stance and overall size (which had surprised me) are all elements that set this apart from what we’ve seen before. I’m particularly fond of the head build, where we see the use of whip elements as the moustache/tendrils of the dragon, accompanied with some other brilliant techniques to create a recognisable and distinct face. The figures aren’t t anything short of excellent either, as we get the baddie – Yellow Tusk Elephant, as well as Mei and Pigsy in their cohesive and charming team armours for the season, as well as an ink demon (an extra pinball for this mighty beast to knock around). For many, the most discouraging aspect of this set may be the tough price, however after getting to experience this magnificent build I can’t help but respect the number they’ve settled on, and would highly recommend this set. If you are a fan of Lego, Dragons, Eastern legends or all of the above (such as my self), do NOT pass up on this set.
I look forward to what the team behind Monkie Kid have yet to unveil, as this brilliant theme is not to be overlooked!
