Great Educational Kit. Bought this to work through with my 6 year old daughter. She loves it and I often have to slow her down through the builds to go through the educational material that accompanies the kit.
As with most LEGO Education kits, this is really expensive. But if you factor in the amount of educational material developed to go with the kits, the value starts to make more sense. To really get that added value you need to spend a lot of time with your kid guiding them through the exploration of the capabilities.
So based on the expense I’m not sure I could recommend this for a kit to just give to a kid and have them work it on their own. But I would recommend it for someone to use as an educational tool with their kids.
I do see the two port capacity being a limitation for my kid to develop more on her own, but I guess that’s more the purpose of the SPIKE Prime kit.

LEGO FOR CODING EDUCATION. Kids adore this LEGO Education set. They thoroughly enjoy both the building and the programming. All three of my children, aged 4, 6, and 8, are enthusiastic about coding. I highly×10000 recommend it!

Amazing. This is an absolutely incredible toy. My son just turned 6 and I would describe it as completely appropriate to his age – he can use it without my help and is enjoying it so much, both doing the suggested builds and programmes or just messing around. The whole thing is so well thought out and intuitive: even just the fact the app can switch between programming with icons or with words depending on age and reading ability is brilliant. The stories and builds in the app are very engaging and show children how they can use the different building materials and programming instructions in a very accessible and easy way. It makes for a really satisfying introduction to programming – even though it was way, way more than I would normally ever spend on a birthday present I haven’t regretted buying it.
