Left Wanting More. While you can see an image of what the final build would look like; I can’t help but feel disappointed. I have done all of the other postcard builds, all of which were amazing and left you feeling like you had an actual 3d postcard of the location. This postcard, with the exception of the kangaroo sign and Australia tag could very well be any small town Texas or Nevada town scenery. If you are looking for something to play with different pieces (I did enjoy the windmill) then I would suggest it; bur if you are trying to add to a visual travel wall; I would suggest any of the other postcards.

Surprising. Fun with a little imagination. I had mixed feelings about this set—excited, disappointed, insulted, puzzled and amused—but with a little humour, it grew on me, and I began to really like it, especially when I challenged myself to mod it with just the pieces it came with.
I like that I could add a representation of Uluru in the background. I like that I could grow a eucalyptus tree to look, well, more like a eucalyptus tree. I like that I could turn the leaves down to look like gum leaves, and I could add gum nuts including one in bloom. I like that I could add long grass around a waterhole. I like how I could shrink down the giant cockatoo, and move the kangaroo sign towards the centre stage. I like how I could even pop out one of the clouds just for fun.
I like how this set unexpectedly stretched my imagination, that it is LEGO, and an Australian postcard—after all, I haven’t found a 2D one better than this.
The old Qantas plane is cute, and the windmill is fun to spin. The desert flowers are a nice touch. I just added some more bare dirt because that’s a lot of what the Australian Outback is.
I’m a fan of this postcard series and have enjoyed building all five of them so far. I hope to see more countries than cities, including Japan and Egypt, among many others. I look forward to collecting more postcards and seeing what LEGO comes up with next—Please keep them coming.

Disappointed Postcard Collector. Great fun series of builds, this Australian outback card is a stereotypical image of Australia and unlike the other ‘postcards’ in the series which show recognisable architecture. Disappointing choice.
